About the Research

The aim of this study is to explore veterinary euthanasia protocols and the management of client grief.

Since there is little known about what techniques are currently being utilized in veterinary clinics, the results of this questionnaire will provide us with a better understanding of these techniques and procedures currently being used in companion animal practices.

In the future, our aim is to use the results of this survey to inform euthanasia protocols and assist veterinary professionals in managing euthanasia procedures and supporting client grief.

Are You Eligible to Participate?

We are asking all Ontario companion animal veterinary professionals who perform or assist with companion animal euthanasias in clinical settings to participate in this important survey. If you are a staff member at a companion animal veterinary clinic which performs euthanasia procedures, we are seeking your expertise! All members in the clinic who have an active role in this procedure are encouraged to participate.

These include:

Associate Veterinarians
Veterinary Technicians/Technologists
Veterinary Receptionist
Veterinary Assistants

Client Care Specialists
Practice Owners, and;
Practice Managers
