ABOUT THE RESEARCHERS

Alisha MatteBSc, PhD Student (Epidemiology)

 

Alisha is a PhD Student in the Department of Population Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. Her research focuses on companion animal euthanasia protocols and client grief support methods in combination with memorialization and bereavement practices. 

 

Through research, education and experience she hope to improve the quality of life of companion animals, their human-counterparts and the veterinary professionals dedicated to their care. 

Dr. Deep KhosaBSc, BVMS, MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine), PhD

Dr. Khosa is a veterinarian, educator and researcher in multiple areas of veterinary pedagogy, student education and wellbeing. As an experienced companion animal veterinarian, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Dr. Khosa is primarily responsible for the first to final year students’ training and education in Companion Animal Primary Healthcare. Her research involves investigating various aspects of veterinary stakeholders’ learning and teaching, including aspects of pedagogy involving the human animal bond.
